Thanks for visiting, we look forward to learning about your side of the family and telling you about ours at an upcoming Reunion!
The 2017 Reunion was held in New Hanover, Pennsylvania on June 16, 17, and 18th, 2017. Please go to 2017 Reunion TAB to see pictures from the Reunion.
The 2018 Reunion is already in the planning stages, it will be held in Winchester, Virginia on June 15, 16, and 17. Winchester is a small historic town filled with Revolutionary and Civil War history. We will visit The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley where the Henkel printing press is on permanent display. The Henkel Printing Company printed the first newspaper in the Valley on this press in 1809. A presentation on the operation of the press and its contribution to the Valley will be made by the Curator of the Museum.
We will also visit The Godfrey Miller Museum to learn how the Miller family of Winchester and the Henkel family of New Market relationships in the late 1700 played a large part in the development of the medical community in the region. Several other important Henkel-Miller sites will also be on our tour of Historic Winchester.
We look forward to seeing you and your family at the upcoming reunion. Please bring your children and grandchildren, they are never to young to learn about the history of the Henckel side their family!
If you are not a member of “The Henckel Family Association” please go to the Membership TAB and join the “Association”, so that you will get all the necessary information needed to attend the reunion in our early March 2018 Newsletter. Accomodations for the reunion will be at the Hilton Garden Inn of Winchester. We have a large block of rooms reserved there for Friday and Saturday nights, June 15 and 16, at a special rate for our members. Your Henckel (Hinkle, Henkel, Henkle) cousins look forward to seeing you.
